Wireless temperature monitoring systems, based on the IEEE 802.15.4 (ZigBee) AMPTEM is aimed at chocks (roll cylinder bearings) while TEMCIL is used in the cylinders. Both are used for sending data obtained by sensors over long distances, wirelessly or by Ethernet, including embedded solutions (microprocessors) for integration with the communication networks of the steelworks. The main components of these systems are:
  1. Transmitters. These measure the temperature of the area where they are and pass it through the IEEE 802.15.4 standard to bases (via repeaters, although it may signal directly) for further processing. These transmitters require little maintenance because of their low battery consumption.
  2. Repeaters as the name implies are used to propagate the signal from the transmitters to the base, because the installation may occur in a place with poor coverage or intended to give the information over long distances.
  3. Bases, embedded systems using gateways have been implemented TCP / IP and USB for full integration between the system and the industry where this is installed.
  4. Custom software for the maintenance of facilities and the recording of new elements of the system.
